  Port Moody Art Association’s43rd Annual Show and SaleThe Port Moody Art Association is proud to present its 43rd Annual Show and Sale of Original Paintings at the Port Moody Social Recreation Centre, 300 Ioco Road, Port Moody, B.C., Canada. You are cordially invited to attend the opening Friday, November 5th 2010 from 7:30 to 10pm. Framed original paintings by member artists will be showcased. Artists will be in attendance. The show continues on Saturday, November 6th 2010, from 10am to 5pm, and on Sunday, November 7th 2010, from 10am to 5pm offering additional unframed paintings. Admission is free.

Gillian Beales
Gillian Beales was born and raised on the West Coast. She attended UBC, graduating in 1978 with BEd in Art(Design). While pursuing a 25 year career in Interior Design in Calgary, Gillian continued to study and paint. Initially a watercolourist, she became seduced by the range of effects, intense colours and instant gratification of acrylic paint. As a designer, her particular obsession was to seek out unusual combinations of colour and light (often drawn from Nature), noting how subtle changes in tone can alter or create different moods.
