Port Moody Art Association’s
43rd Annual Show and Sale

The Port Moody Art Association is proud to present its 43rd Annual Show and Sale of Original Paintings at the Port Moody Social Recreation Centre, 300 Ioco Road, Port Moody, B.C., Canada.You are cordially invited to attend the opening Friday, November 5th 2010 from 7:30 to 10pm. Framed original paintings by member artists will be showcased. Artists will be in attendance. The show continues on Saturday, November 6th 2010, from 10am to 5pm, and on Sunday, November 7th 2010, from 10am to 5pm offering additional unframed paintings. Admission is free. Click here for map.

Exhibits

The Port Moody Art Association has continuing exhibits of members works on the East main floor hallway and the West 2nd floor hallway at the Eagle Ridge Hospital, 475 Guilford Way, Port Moody, B.C. (map), and the Port Moody Police Main Station at 3051 St. Johns Street, Port Moody, B.C.

Paintings are changed approximately every six months. Exchanges will be announced at meetings and by the phoning committee. Detailed information can be obtained from our outside hanging committee chairperson.

History

The Port Moody Art Association began in 1967 with a handful of artists. By the club’s second year, it had over 30 members. Today, the Association has a 100-member membership and a waiting list for membership. As there is currently more than a four-year waiting list for new membership registration, we are suspending acceptance of new registration submissions until at least 2010. If you are an Artist living in the Tri-cities and are interested in further information, please contact our Association’s President heather ANDERSON.

Members offering Art Instruction or Workshops

Will be teaching two acrylics courses. One at the Dogwood Pavilion, 624 Poirier Street in Coquitlam (map). For people who are interested, please contact the Dogwood Pavilion at 604-933-6089. The other course will be at the
Cameron Recreation Complex, 9523 Cameron Street in Burnaby (map).

ginger LOVELL
Teaches a watercolour and drawing class at Coquitlams new Glen Pine Pavilion (map) for adults over 40 years of age. The Fall session begins September 22nd and runs for eight weeks. Classes are from 9:30 till noon on Tuesday mornings. Returning and new students are welcome.

arabel LUK
Will be teaching a teenage art class every Saturday 1:00-4:00pm at Studio B, Evergreen Cultural Centre, 1205 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam, B.C.

Meetings

September 2009 to June 2010 Newsletter

Reminder: All meetings are from 7:00 to 9:00pm.
From September until December, we meet every Monday unless otherwise notified.
From January to June, we do not meet the first Monday of each month.
Twelve attended meetings between October 1st to September 30th are required to display in the Fall Show.

Membership dues are now $55.00 and dues are payable by November 30th, 2010 for 2011.
Please pay renewals to membership renewal person (TBA).
