| ||Norah Cantin
A native of Edmonton, Alberta, Norah has resided in British Columbia since 1998.
She became interested in artistic endeavours at an early age, when she started to paint in water colors and oils. She studied landscape, nature and wildlife painting under Percy Henderson in a University of Alberta Extension Program over 30 years ago, and these subjects have been her favourite since.
Norah has taught painting, card making and jewellry design to varied populations from troubled youth to people afflicted with Alzheimer's disease or related dementia, and womens groups.
Norah has a Master's Degree in Adult Education. She is a founding member of McMan Youth, Family and Community Services Association (Alberta) and has taught various subjects in numerous post secondary institutions in both Alberta and B.C. She has received an Award of Excellence for her work in the Career Development Field.
Besides painting, and card design (using a form of encaustic art) jewellery design is Norah's most recent passion.
A French Canadian originally from Hearst Ontario, Simon has lived in many places, across Canada, before settling in British Columbia in 1998.
Simon's passion is carving using all kinds of different stones and pieces of wood.
Simon has been interested in designing and building furniture and specialty pieces of woodwork for approximately twenty five years. He studied woodworking through the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in Edmonton and stone carving through Kwantlen University College in Surrey. Simon also studied jewellery making through the Surrey Rock and Gem Club and also through the Creative Jewellers Guild of B.C.
Simon's work has been collected and displayed both nationally and internationally.
Simon is currently doing carving infront of the museum in White Rock. He is there every weekend, weather permitting from May 15 to the end of October.
Simon is a Cartographer by profession which he studied at Algonquin College in Ottawa before moving West to work in this field. He is currently self employed in the field of mapping.
He resides in the South Surrey/ White Rock area with his wife Norah.
