Biography:
CAROL E. M. OLIVER (CEMO) Since childhood, Carol Oliver has pursued drawing using a variety of medium which included charcoal, coloured chalk and pencils. Her favourite subjects were animals and nature scenes. She also used her talents to entertain children with crafts including oil pastel backdrops for skits. In 1981, she attained her Visual Arts Diploma from Camosun College. She especially liked printmaking using multiple colour layering. In her second year, she specialized in photography experimenting with special darkroom techniques. For the next few years she explored colour photography in her darkroom. Her main subjects still pertain to nature. Carol had always wanted to learn to paint. In 1998, she finally found an instructor who started with the basics in acrylic painting. Since then she has continued group classes where she is exposed to many different techniques. She found that her own style of large drawings worked best using larger brushes, and bright rich colours
