Successful sketching at John Lawson Park

Sketching today was at John Lawson Park in West Vancouver.  We have photos uploaded to our facebook page Vancouver Sketch Club. It was a very busy morning and a little difficult to find parking.  However, we had wonderful shade and many, many different subjects to sketch and paint.  We were very happy to have 4 new sketchers attend the event today - Pat and Nick and Hans and Ghyslaine.

We noticed the signs abounding for the Harmony Arts Festival and are looking forward to all the art activities there during the event July 31-August 9th #harmonyartswv.

Our next sketching event is July 22nd.  You can see all the details on the web page as well as on our facebook page.

July 15 John Lawson Park Sketching 11-2pm

Wednesday, July 15, located on Argyle Ave. between 16th & 17th st. West Vancouver.  There is ample street parking.  We will be meeting in the picnic area near the Silk Purse Gallery and sketching in the vicinity.

Last week, we had 5 members and guest Carol McQuaid come and enjoy the Olympic Village. Carol will be presenting a demonstration at our Sept 15th meeting - to start off our regular Fall meetings and demos.

It was a hot day  at the village(we tried to catch the shade as much as possible).  We had some inquiries as we made sure to have our sign near by with our website address.  We have pictures posted on our facebook page "Vancouver Sketch Club"

Everyone is welcome and you don't need to be a member to come enjoy sketching with us or just come by and say "hi"!

Also, we just received confirmation that for members, we will be having an exhibition at the West End Community Center October 18 - November 9th - "Points of View".  Please keep this in mind for the fall.

Summer Sketching at Olympic Village Tomorrow

Hi everyone,  even though the skies are still filled with smoke, the end of False Creek seems pretty good.  A wind has picked up today and you can now see further down the creek.  Should be a good day for sketching tomorrow.

11am to 2pm.  Meet at Terra Breads.
