Call for Artists - June 30 deadline for Aug 6, 7
Filed under: Event Tags: Opportunities

Calling all artists - Show in Minnekhada August 6th and 7th The Minnekhada Park Association is currently seeking artists to participate in a two day art festival and exhibition in scenic Minnekhada Regional Park in Coquitlam, British Columbia. This summer event offers visual arts, live music, roving performers, arts and crafts workshops, a children's area, the Creative Café and provides an opportunity for artists of different origins and disciplines to meet and share their passion. The Festival provides a high quality event for artists to network with the public, their colleagues, and friends. Art sales are a welcome by-product of this exhibition, but not the sole purpose. There is a space for each artist in the historic Minnekhada lodge or outside in the driveway surrounded by the garden. There is a minimal exhibitor fee; however, no percentage of the artists' sales is retained by the organizers. Please note that this year there will be credit card payment processing stations on site. Participation Requirements Entry fees, artist biography (max. 100 words), a head shot for the event guide, and two to three photos of your art work are required with your application. Vendor selection is made by a jury to ensure variety and quality of entries. Applications are due June 30th. Each entry will be reviewed and notification letters will be sent out in July. Please apply online at www.metrovancouver.org/artinthepark. In the top left corner of the page is the application.Note the date has been extended from June 15 to June 30 deadline. July 21 - Vancouver - "Starving" to Successful
Filed under: Event Tags: Instruction Opportunities

Xanadu Gallery Presents:"Starving" to SuccessfulAn intensive workshop where you will learn everything you need to know to get into galleries and sell more art Thursday, July 21st, 2011 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Holiday Inn Hotel Vancouver 711 West Broadway, Vancouver, BC V5Z3Y2 My artist wife Heather Anderson and I are signed up, are you? This should be quite an interesting evening. Jason is an experienced gallery operator, based in Scottsdale Arizona, who in my opinion, gets it in our new and evolving world. He is also a gifted writer, having authored a very popular book Starving Artist to Gallery Artist An Art Marketing Guide for Growing your Art Career and Becoming a Gallery Artist I enjoyed reading it so much that even though I only help artists to promote art, (not being an artist myself) I jumped at the chance to go to this workshop. I predict Jason will bring a lot of no-nonsense very practical information based on his very successful book, and wide business experience. Do not miss out, this will sell out I am sure. Sign up here:More information on the Vancouver, BC Workshop Hope to see you there!Cam Anderson, Webmaster of MyArtClub.Com read more ...
