History	Suite E General Information Suite E is a non-profit artists’ society (founded in 1977) holding weekly life drawing sessions with professional models. Suite E welcomes people interested in drawing however attendees should have some drawing experience as instruction is not given. The female and male models are professionals who usually pose unclothed. For some sessions the model will be partially draped or in costume. The group meets Tuesdays, 7 PM to 9:50 PM, at the Poirier Community Centre, Joseph Howe Room, 630 Poirier Street, Coquitlam. Please arrive 10-15 minutes before to set up! Sessions start promptly at 7 pm! Drop-in’s and new members are very welcome. The name "Suite E" originated from the room on Brunette Street where the original group first held their sessions. Sessions: The Group will alternate the session type, multiple poses and sustained pose. 1) Multiple Poses: pattern starts with one minute, then two, five and ten minutes poses. Three different half hour poses, with short breaks for the model, complete the night. A 20 minute break for everyone is scheduled for around 8:30 PM. 2) Sustained Pose: The session begins with some quick warm-up poses and then a pose is taken for the remainder of the night. The model rests every half hour with a 20 minute break for everyone at 8:30 PM. For the sustained pose, many members bring paints or other media. Any medium is acceptable however only odourless solvent is to be used for media requiring a solvent. A limited number of easels are available however attendees are encouraged to bring their own. Session fees: $10 non-members; $7.50 for members (or 10 session tickets for $70); $5 for students attending senior secondary school IF they bring their student card. New members fee structure, joining: September-November - $30; December-February - $20; March-May - $10; June - $30 (valid until September the following year). Membership renewal fee is $30 per year, due by the second session in September each year. Sessions are held from early September to early December and from early January to early June. No sessions are held in the summer. An Annual General Meeting is held in mid-June. Members are entitled to: reduced session fee ($7.50) OR can buy 10 tickets for $70, newsletter and model schedule ; participation in shows (minimum session attendance criteria required for participation), opportunity to display artwork on the MyArtClub.Com Suite E web site; a vote in the election of the Association’s Board of Directors, and seek election for a position on the Board of Directors.

The show continues until 19th September 2010 at Basic Inquiry Studio and Gallery, Vancouver Life Drawing Society, 1011 Main Street, Vancouver, B. C. V6A 4L4. Included in the show are 41 pieces, portraits and figurative work in a variety of mediums. Ingeborg will be at the Gallery Thursday and Saturday between 1pm and 4pm

Please visit her blog for more information blog or register at ExperienceIt Featured Artist Featured Artist Adrienne Peacock Growing up on a farm in southern Ontario, I was encouraged to experiment with oils and watercolours as a child as my mother and grandmother were both artists. I began my formal instruction with private instruction from Doolee McDonnell, and have taken courses at Emily Carr University, Langara College, the Vancouver Academy of Art and with the Federation of Canadian Artists. To some degree, my subject matter reflects my background. I love the natural environment, mountains, streams and other wild places, but I also enjoy capturing the many moods of people. As a scuba diver, I have acquired a familiarity with and fondness for water views, particularly underwater scenes. There is no more satisfying activity on earth than creating a work of art. Although I have an academic science background, I often find that I am most acutely observing nature when I am painting. I chose to paint what I love, whether a flower, an underwater experience, a lake, a forest scene or a still life. Painting portraits is a particularly satisfying challenge. Through painting, I strive to capture those ephemeral beautiful moments, even if just on paper or canvas. I work primarily in acrylic and watercolours, although I also create pieces in stained glass and wood. I am currently a member of the Suite E life drawing group in Coquitlam, a member of Art Focus and the Port Moody Artists’ Association, and an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists. My paintings can be found in a variety of private collections, from Vancouver to Ottawa, California and Ireland.
