Description:This mask was made from Yellow Cedar, has real deer antler and horse hair. It is painted oiled and waxed.
Artist's Comments: This mask was made after the Celtic deity Cernnunos who was believed to be the god of life, death and rebirth. He was depicted as being surrounded by animals, from snakes to deer, and had antlers himself. When Christianity was introduced, the Christians associated Cernnunos with the devil because of the horns on his head, and soon Cernnunos' followers dwindled.
